Low-sodium lunch spots near Main Street / River Market?

Trying to find somewhere to take my mom to lunch next week. She drove me to a medical appointment last month when my truck was in the shop, and I want to say thanks with something besides a gas card. Problem is she's on dialysis, and her dietitian has her on a strict low-sodium diet. I think they watch potassium and phosphorus too, but sodium is the big one.

Most places I think of downtown are heavy on salt. Fried stuff, barbecue, anything with a sauce. I'd like somewhere in the River Market or SoMa area where she can order something off the menu and not have to just pick at a side salad. Quiet enough to talk is a bonus, and parking that isn't a hike, since walking far is hard for her.

If you or someone in your family eats this way, where do you go? Does anyone know a place that will actually make something without added salt if you ask? Thanks.

Honestly most of downtown is a salt lick, so good on you for asking. I'm in the River Market and I'd skip the barbecue places entirely.

What I'd do is call ahead mid-morning, before the noon crowd, and ask if the kitchen can do something plain, like grilled chicken or fish with no seasoning salt and sauce on the side. Smaller spots are usually way more willing than the big ones. Ottenheimer Hall is kind of nice for this too since there's a few counters, so she's not stuck with one menu, and the parking is easy.

Also, her dialysis dietitian probably has a list of what's ok for the potassium and phosphorus stuff, worth a quick ask before you pick. Hope it's a good lunch.
